• When bidding a job, you need to be able to:

  • automatically generate POs and Agency orders based on the successful Bill and to send them efficiently (e.g. by email) to suppliers - you benefit by avoiding a great deal of (potentially error generating) manual work
  • expedite and track shipments and supplier invoices against POs and to have a streamlined way to have each invoice approved by the appropriate person
  • bill your customer in a timely way
  • track agency order commissions and reconcile actual to expected
  • track costs expected (based on POs) and costs invoiced
  • track revenue expected, billed (based on invoices), and paid (based on customer payments)
  • track profits and commissions expected, earned (based on invoices out) and due (based on payments)
  • allocate and pay commissions based on profits due – and communicate commissions clearly to the sales reps so that they are confident that the commissions are correct
  • track time spent by some if not all employees, e.g. the people in Service or Controls
  • not only drill down to see whatever data you need on the screen, but also act on it (e.g. email the supplier on a PO to expedite)
  • set up automatic reminders in the system (e.g. an email with a list of late shipments) to make sure nothing falls through the cracks

• For Parts, you need a fully featured Sales Order Processing system with appropriate Sales Analysis.
